:mag:Professor Kim Rasmussen is Deputy Dean and Associate Dean Research for the Faculty of Engineering and Challis Professor of Civil Engineering. He obtained his Masters of Science in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, and his PhD and DEng from the University of Sydney. He joined the School of Civil Engineering in 1989, and served as Head of School for 11 years from 2005 until 2016. He has been Deputy Dean and Associate Dean Research since 2016, and acted as Interim Dean from 1 Jan 2018 to 30 June 2018.

:information_source: He is Chairman of the Centre for Advanced Structural Engineering which operates within the School of Civil Engineering and supports its research and consulting activities in the area of structural engineering. He is member or chairman of numerous Standards Australia committees and a member of the editorial boards of most of the leading journals in his field.
