Crunchy Matter (AS#1) Video
🥣 Do you like crunchy things?
💭 Ever enjoyed the sound of crushing stuff?
⏳ Interested in exploring what happens to crunchy materials under load?
📖 SUCE is proud to announce the very first event of our Academic Seminar PEP Package, Crunchy things with François Guillard. This talk will explore the emergence and characteristics of those instabilities on crunchy materials as well as geomaterials.
🎓 François is a lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering. His research aims at understanding the behaviour of granular materials and brittle porous media such as sand and puffed rice from experiments, numerical simulations, and modeling.
👨🏫 Brittle porous media encompass a wide range of common materials, such as sand, bones, and breakfast cereals. Given the use of these materials, instabilities have an important impact on the long-term reliability of structures and equipment as they exhibit specific behaviours under load and when degraded.
