SUCE is excited to welcome you, regardless of major and year, to join the iBuild Our Future mentoring program of our SUCE PEP Package: Industry Talk #2! 

WHAT IS IT?

iBuild Our Future is a mentoring initiative connecting students with industry CEOs and senior executives. YOU will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with your senior executive mentor for 1 hour through a meeting conducted online via Microsoft Teams.

‍ WHO ARE THE MENTORS? ‍

Once successfully applied, you will be matched with the 26 executives from various engineering disciplines, including:

  • Construction 🛠, Structural , Infrastructure 🏘, Project Management 🧑‍
  • Transport , Geotechnical , Environmental , Humanitarian 🏜

Participating companies include John Holland, Macquarie Group, Douglas Partners, Aurecon, Colliers International, Transurban and MANY MORE 🏗.

MENTEE BENEFITS

  • Human Resources Orientation before meeting with your selected mentor to learn how to professionally present yourself to a senior executive.
  • 1 hour one-on-one mentoring session with an experienced CEO or Senior Executive from your chosen field of civil engineering major.
  • Learn about the career path of your mentor and of their successes.
  • Opportunity to learn from an experienced senior leader and gain career advice to best position yourself for future advancement
  • Increased skills and knowledge in business and management
  • Networking opportunities

APPLICATION TIMELINE

24th August 9AM: Written applications open We strongly encourage you to join Chris Bulmer's talk on 24th August 5 PM, which will brief you on the mentoring program. Be sure to sign up here: https://suce.info/events/2022/s2/it2

  1. 7th September 9 PM: Applications close

  2. 14th September: Successful applicants contacted and paired with mentors

  3. 5th October 11AM: HR Orientation Session

  4. October TBA: Meeting with a dedicated senior mentor

Well then, you are, once again, in luck! We have another amazing talk for you coming up, with one of our amazing academics, Dr Ali Hadigheh!

Dr Hadigheh is a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney, who’s interests lies in achieving sustainable practices within the built environment, specifically exploring the maintenance and development of infrastructure. His research ranges from Timber Design, Behavioural Analysis and Material Performance in Structures!

Even if you’re not sure, this is an amazing opportunity to grab ideas on how diverse civil engineering is in the industry or even some academic tips to up those marks!
