If you enjoy organising events, socialising with new people, or trying new things, then this role is perfect for you! As an events team officer, you will be part of a key foundation of the society.

Your responsibility will include devising, organising and executing events that scope three key areas: industry, academic and socials.

It is a perfect chance to boost your leadership management skills, build confidence and gain a strong understanding of how to manage a successful event.
Moreover, you will not only have a chance to collaborate with your fellow peers but also liaise with industry and academic professionals.

What we're looking for:

💪 Organisation
Ideally, someone in this role will be proficient in organising tasks that need to be accomplished and carrying them out. This encompasses everything from organising event logistics to devising run sheets, to delegating roles to team members

🎙 Communication
Since this role involves a lot of discussion with other people (SUCE team members, industry representatives, academics and external society members), it is pivotal that someone in this role has strong communication skills.

🏃‍♂️ Initiative
This role will involve a lot of varying responsibilities. Hence, it's crucial that you are able to take the leap to accomplish tasks of your own accord, and are enthusiastic about trying new things

👏 Teamwork
This role involves a lot of collaboration - from working with your own Events team to coordinating events with academic & industry reps. So, if you thrive in team-based environments, then this role's perfect for you!

🎨🎨🎨Marketing 🎨🎨🎨

Has anyone ever asked you to think outside the box? Do you want to come up with something that hasn't been done before? Turn your creativity into reality by joining the marketing team!

SUCE is looking for a marketing officer, that is open-minded and willing to learn about how to engage students with social academic and industry life. In this role you will also experiment with different designs to create and distribute content, spreading the word about SUCE and civil engineering as a whole.

It is a perfect chance to boost your persuasive skills, build confidence and gain a strong understanding of how to market a successful event in a dynamic environment. Moreover, you will not only have a chance to work across the society but also develop an understanding of people.

In the marketing team, you will be involved in a range of different activities including

🌠 Event Posts
Designing and posting creative banners and descriptions (Bonus if you know Canva/Photoshop)

📲 Platform management
Engage with students on all our social media platforms (Bonus if you already have a following)

🧑‍💻 Website Management
Design and maintain the SUCE website (Bonus points if you know HTML/CSS)

✍️Video content
Write and record short videos

📷 Photographer
Capturing and editing photos for events. (Bonus points if you have a DSLR)

🎥Video editing
Combining different videos together using software (Bonus points if you know how to use Premiere Pro / Final Cut / DaVinci Resolve)
